Royal Enfield
Bullet Trials, now here is a bike I really wanted to test, following it’s release 6 weeks ago..the requests we’ve received have been waiting for our demonstrator and we have one ready for you to test yourself now! Here is my thoughts for a late night read or a Sunday scroll with a newspaper and your freshly ground finest coffee beans,Enjoy!
Setting off from the shop tonight I hit traffic but I soon found that this bike was capable of filtering at ease, really smooth 5 speed gearbox and the fork travel took the pot holes in its stride(we know how many we have these days) , soon out into the countryside of Wrightington through the country lanes and into Eccleston and beyond I got to ride the twisting roads and take in the scenery! Beautiful night for it, as you can see I have a few farming friends who kindly let me put the bike where it belongs in the green lanes and a touch of mud! Wow! It takes it in its stride, first hitting the mud I honestly thought oops I’m in the (four letter word) here! But no the suspension and ground clearance is just enough, the telescopic 35mm forks with 130mm stroke along with its twin gas rear shockers with 5step adjustable preload Absorbed it all up with ease and I loved every minute of it!
Now I know why these bikes were used in the six day trials back in 48-53 (nope I wasn’t born then) but if the 350 did it this well then what can we achieve here and now?!
Now we all know these bikes are not for everyone however if your wanting to cruise out at an evening to a bike meet or down the local cafe for a cuppa then be sure to have heads turning as this bike attracts, tonight I was asked how much it cost? I told them and his response “well your not going to do much damage at that!” He’s correct in my opinion.
So after a bit of fun in the mud /lanes I went onto to carry on an extended ride home taking in its feel on the roads and it doesn’t disappoint straight up to 70mph no drama but for comfort, keep it to 50-60 and you’ll pop along nicely! The seat on its springs soaks it up nicely too and no numb bum after the 48 mile ride! No vibrating hands and got off just as comfortable as I got on!
Quite a few things on the bike impressed me, the foot position, the seat, the gearbox and above all...no time on the instruments so you haven’t a clue what time it is and this is a good thing! Don’t clock watch and just enjoy your ride!
As we know Royal Enfield are producers of fine motorcycles but have they got this right? Absolutely! Have they made the bullet attractive? Absolutely! Have they made a capable trials? Absolutely! Have they made Royal Enfield cool? Absolutely! Have they made a bike for all ages? Absolutely!
Well done Royal Enfield we are proud to supply!
